Runner or Taco????

They both are excellent vehicles and both are TRUCKS. I love my 4Runner and probably prefer the closed inside rear space. The Taco is sweet and I may ultimately replace my Runner with one because I can't stand the 5th gen T4R. Don't forget about the Tundra, it is a very nice truck too!

My thoughts exactly. If you're getting a trailer anyways get the 4Runner.

Besides, you cant get a Taco with a v8

The Tacoma is a great truck for sure. But the rock-solid dynamics of the 4Runner are hard to give up.

(It must be my age being a '80s kid. SUVs were just pickups with wagon bodies so that mindset still lingered slightly. Not anymore.)

I have owned 3 4runners and 1 Tacoma. My personal experience has been that we always over estimate our need for a bed and severely underestimate our need for seating.

Everyone does it. I have only twice thought, "man it would be nice to have a truck", while owning my 4runner(s) over the years. But, man, when I owned my Taco I was constantly yelling at myself at how much I missed the runner.

The 2 times you need truck like hauling, either borrow a buddies or rent a cheap trailer from U haul. Seriously.
