Running 12v from battery to trunk area, suggestions?

I need to run 12v to my trunk area for my fridge. I will be using 10 awg wire and wanted to know if anyone has a preferred route from the battery to inside the trunk. If so, can you post up a brief explanation or pics?

Bought the ARB 12 volt wiring harness. It comes with a built in fuse, I rant trough the grommet on the fire wall, down trough the door sills, then trough the weather sealer (can remember the exact name of the part) of the back passenger door on to the jack compartment. Then proceeded to drill a hole for a 12 volt socket I bought at Amazon since the ARB socket does not work for the Indel B fridge. I'll post pics for you tomorrow so you can understand all the nonsense I just wrote!!!:thumb3::thumb3::thumb3:

Yes, used the wiring kit arb provides.

Now would be a good time to consider any potential future power needs, and whether or not you may want to run a heavier gauge cable to a dedicated rear fuse block versus a dedicated fridge line.

Hello All, Thanks for the responses! Got a question, is the pass through on the firewall obvious? I'm running this wire for a dedicated line to my fridge. I hadn't considered any other power requirements back there yet, just wanted something that was on all the time for the fridge. Thanks for pointing that out though, i'll have to put some thought into that.

you can use the large rubber grommet where the wire looms pass through. You can either fish it through with the existing loom, or cut a hole and pass it through a different spot through the grommet.

Take extra caution not to cut or scratch any extra wires

Ok, good to know. I have grommet material too but always prefer to use a stock location if one is avaialble.

The straps are piggy backed off each other looping into a bar under the sliding tray. You can see it when you look under.

ARB uses a proprietary connection. I have a dometic and the dometic plug doesnt fit the ARB receptacle.

I used a blue sea 12v outlet with the ARB wiring kit which worked perfect. Soldered the connection and it has been great for my indel B

Thanks, my Indel B is on the way so I need to get the wiring squared away. What straps are you using?

I also just read you can buy the ARB DC power cord and it will plug into the Indel B. This way you can utilize the screw in 12v socket that comes with the ARB wire kit.

Velcro straps off amazon. But I'm using a dometic slide on my own platform I built for my third row. Near the end of my build thread for pics. I haven't done any real off-roading with them but have held on some mild bumps and day to day.

Awesome, thanks. I just ordered the ARB straps and I'm going to secure it to my factory sliding cargo tray. Also ordered the ARB wiring kit and DC power cord. We'll see if it works for the Indel B......fingers crossed.
