Running Board Opinion

I really am undecided but a few other threads have me really questioning whether my 4runner would look better with or without the running boards, I did a quick ugly color in job to get an idea which is better with or without , without I would have a pretty good little ground clearance... what do yall think???

ur not gonna be doin any offroadin so keep them...i did the same thing and thought the same thing makes it look cleaner

I'd leave them on, since you've got them bling blang's on there, and probably won't seen any off-roading. It'll keep the rocks and road debris off of your rocker panels, too.

i AGREE, WITH THOSE RIMS ON THERE , LEAVE THEM ON. oN THE OTHER HAND , YOU COULD INSTALL SOME wESTIN CROME NERF BARS. tHAT WOULD LOOK NICE AND MATCH THE CROME RIMS

Honestly though fellas this picture is prolly one of the four times a year that it's that clean, it sees alot more off road time than it prolly should, I know of one place in particular that my and my buddies go camping(they all drive jacked up tacomas) that is fairly decent little over road adventure and my steps only clear a couple of rocky ruts by about an inch, and they didn't clear it before the lift which is was the deciding reason for that, and I got the wheel EXTREMELY cheap(the chrome is flaking) otherwise you'd be looking at a set of deep offset wheels and some knobbies, please don't look at it and think she's a parking lot princess, it just breaks my heart...

Do your tires stick out from the side any? If so then removing the running boards may cause rocks and other stuff from the road to be thrown up against your car. But I may be wrong.

Man. Hard to say. Both ways look nice. But it's time to get clear corners and bumper lights. From clean to super clean. :D

I've been thinking of removing my running boards as well. I don't do alot of off-roading. I tend to do alot of "dirt-roading." i like how the running boards keep the mud and dirt off of the rocker panels. I've considered the front mud flaps that you can apparently get only at one place, that I've seen, but they're $80 a set!

I love my running boards and I am keeping them, but I also have the Limited flares and running boards which is why I am keeping them. I don't like the normal running boards they put on the SR5's.

In your case, I think chrome/Stainless nerf bars would look better than your running boards if you really want something down there.

If you're going to remove the running boards, might as well get rid of those hideous rims (personal opinion) and get some nice 16's and knobbies. I absolutely HATE the new trend of those guys with GMC 2500's with a 6" lift and 22" rims.

Anyway, just a suggestion.
