Running boards are available as an option from Toyota dealers located in the Souteast region of the US. For some reason, Toyota only offers the running boards in the US through the SE region - don't ask me why. However, you can usually order the running boards from the SE region dealers and have them shipped to your part of the country (see post #4). Ebay is also a popular option, if you want the factory running boards. They are usually offered from SE dealers through Ebay. The Canadian 4Runners apparently have factory running boards as standard equipment - at least on some of there models.
