I don't like the look of the 4th gen without either running boards or sliders. Otherwise, there's too much frame showing. Having said that, I'd rip the running boards off in a hot second and replace them with some sliders given the chance. I never use the running boards and they are in the way when I get in and out of the truck. However, my wife won't let me.

Unfortunately, both my wife and kids use them a lot :( Until the kids are older and I can turn the 4R into a guy only vehicle, I'm stuck with running boards. When that happens, the X-REAS goes, an OME lift gets installed and sliders go on. :biggrin2:

definitely need them for those riding with me, and are short and have a hard time getting in. Wish they could be lighted like my GX's running boards....:bash:

I took mine within the first week of owning my truck. Makes it look more like a rugged SUV instead of grocery getter. I only miss them when wanting to access the roof racks easily. I will install sliders after I lift it .

I NEED my running boards. 1) i'm 5'6" short 2) i use it to take some snow/sand off my shoes before i get in. I voted "YES" because i need them.

They are definitely useful, but having gotten strung up in a tight obstacle as soon as I got home they came off and I haven't looked back.

I get a weekly grumbling from the wife, but I have sliders on order so it will be resolved soon!
:D
