I personally like them off, but some can pull them off quite well. To each their own!

I like my black and crome running boards. I regularly load lumber on my roof and I use the running board as an initial step before stepping over onto the tire. It makes a nice transition. I go through snow, sand, mud and over dirt and they offer some protection. I use them to bang mud off of my boots before getting in. I like them.
