Runnning a stock alloy wheel in the stock spare location?

My truck came from up north and the steelie spare was rusted badly.
I looked for a while and finally got a 5 star alloy to match my wheels and use it in the spare location.
One thing to note, the alloy would not fit the same as the steel wheel on the lift cable plate. I was going to make a custom plate until I came across a thread where someone mentioned it works perfect if you flip it, so the inside of the wheel faces the ground. Doh, glad I searched and found that little tid bit. Of course, I should have tried it both ways anyway.

Are you speaking of the spare? It's fine. It's sitting in the cargo area in the back of the truck where it currently lives. I put an addicted rear bumper on and the spare will no longer fit underneath. What advice are you asking for? I'd be happy to help.
Hmmm I was going to get an Addicted rear at some point as well, but I guess at that point I'd just use the swingout and roof rack for 2 spares... did you plasti-dip or paint them?

My factory 3 spokes I painted with Rustoleum hi-temp outdoor grill paint. Works awesome and easy to touch up. The only one I use now if for the spare. I run a full set of Dick Cepek DC-2-s now that I got off a wrecked Runner (consequently where the bumper came from as well). I'd highly recommend a bumper with a swingout. I'm currently screwed on multiple fronts. I can't put the spare on the roof and still fit the truck in the garage. My DC wheels fit over the big Tundra brakes but my spare alloy 3 spoke doesn't. I have to carry a set of stock lug nuts around and I don't run my spacers any more. I'll have to do some Tetris if I need to swap a front tire. See what happens. Cans and cans of worms.

I am curious why you say this or maybe you didn't check, but a stock spare or even a 265/75r16 will fit in the stock location with our rear bumper just fine. Anything bigger will rub the factory panhard bar though. Its not an issue with our bumper. Its an issue with the suspension rubbing.
