Rusted Out Latch

My back latch is starting to rust out and will no longer operate. I was unable to find any replacement parts for this type of appication and was wondering if any of you guys could point me in the right direction? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the info. I was curious about the installation: Did you have to remove the interior plastic trim on the gate on order to gain better access to the electrical wire or just simply remove the 3 bolts and swap it out? I greatly appreciate it.

yeah. the lock and release cable are all one piece so you have to take off the cover and disconnect the cable and wire that are up in there. it was pretty easy. took me like 10 minutes start to finish

bro, I want to hear more about your truck... it's the only 3RZ I have seen on this forum that I can remember.

I had an issue with mine sticking and not working all the time. Sometimes I would open my hatch and have to sit there slamming it shut for 5-10 minutes until the latch clicked back and would hold it shut. I open up the back panel and lubed it up and its been working fine for the last 3 months. I will eventually have to change it out though.

i just sanded mine down with a dremel and painted with a rustoleum enamel
