rusted thingy under headlights

Hi everyone,

Wish everyone a Happy Easter Weekend. Just a quick question. I have a 2005 sport runner and recently I noticed rust coming out from the piece under the headlights where the bend is. (both sides). I did a 5000 service and told the service adviser and he is sending my car to the body shop to repaint both side. Do you think I should ask for replacement since it is not expensive or wait til I get the car back? Thanks!

Sorry Guys...I didn't take a picture (which I should have) before took the car in. The rust is from the corners and it is almost like surface rust. Will dealer replace the little piece or just sand the rust out and use touch up paint? Thanks

The piece directly under the headlight adjacent to the grille is plastic. I think the surface rust you're referring to could be fallout or contaminents on the clear. Does it catch your fingernails if you drag over it? If it's contaminents, it could be removed with a claybar.
