Rusty leaking rear end

I have a 97 4Runner with 150,000 miles on it and the rear end is rusting and appears to be leaking from the bottom of it. I would not think that the rear end should be rusting completely through! Has anyone experienced this ?

Pics of where its leaking from? If you can get pics from the front and the back of the axle.
