RV Stereo

My camping trailer came with a built in "sound system" made by Jensen. It never worked very well and now it doesn't work at all. I need to replace it. It looks like Jensen is the only company that makes units this size but I'd really rather put in something better.

Here is what it looks like. You can see it's quite a bit larger than the double DIN unit out of my T4R:

Here is where it installs:

My thought is to use a single or double DIN car stereo unit with some sort of custom filler panel. The question is what sort of filler panel will look best with what is there. Or does someone other than Jensen make a unit this size?

Is there a standard way of adapting these? What would you suggest as far as material for the panel?

I used a black Kydex sheet, similar in color to your panel below stereo opening, as a filler in my RV. I did reinforce opening with wood and the Kydex hid the wood which I used to create the right size openings. No pics as RV is in storage, but you can find Kydex sheets on google or Amazon. Good luck...
