"Safari" snorkle?

Has anyone used a snorkle on their 4R? I am looking at the ARB unit for my 90 with the V6. (apologies if this has been discussed before, I could not find a thread in my searches).

I am not into taking my truck swimming, but I do a lot of dirt roads (read: DUSTY!) and getting the intake up into cleaner air makes sense to me. My airbox is right over the front wheel, behind the headlight, and it is open to the element inside. I run a K&N filter and have not had any problems with water or snow clogging, but if I can improve my odds...(plus I like the look).

I am wondering about performance as well. ARB claims they use a wide enough diameter tubing to provide more air flow then needed for the engine. I wonder if it may have a scoop-like effect at highway speeds (weak ram-air?).

Thanks for the input!

I have not seen anybody on this forum with a snorkel. You might want to try yotatech.

As far as performance, I doubt if you will see any improvement. The length of the intake "piping" will probably cancel any little bit of air pressure atthe snorkel.

As far as dust I have heard that it reduces it greatly in very dusty areas.

BruceTS, on Yotatech or here has an internal snorkle. Really cool setup. Do a search on YT
