I would think run-away shopping cart. Less intentional but still sucks.

That just looks like someone was careless in the parking lot.
I watched a lady the other day at Wal-Mart push her cart to the cart collection place. She let it go about halfway across the drive, missed the collection part and went right into the side of a car. She gave a little laugh and walked back to her car and drove away.

I agree, looks like something rubbed against the truck (or the truck rubbed against something) How deep is it? it might just buff out easily.

I've already had the entire rear passenger repainted, cleared and paintless dent repair on the rear hatch on a 2016 TEP with less than 6K on the odo due to 2 separate unknown parking-lot adventures. I feel your pain! :yield:

Something I can chime in since I just fixed up my truck headlamp to taillight of scuffs / scratches. With that being said, it doesn't look deep at all. It is most likely just the clearcoat that is jacked up. Easiest way to tell is spray it with some soapy water and rinse it, if it disappears temporarily and then returns when it dries, it's just in the clear coat. If when you clean / rinse it is still there, that is in the paint and I can't help you. Anyways, if its just in the clear coat this is how you fix it yourself for less than 20 bucks. Wash the area really well. Go to Advance Auto Parts and buy some 5000 grit sandpaper. Soak that sandpaper in soapy water and put soapy water in a spray bottle. Start working that sandpaper in the opposite direction of the scratch. Continuously spray the soapy water on it to keep it lubed. After you have done it for a bit, rinse it off and see if you can't see the scratch anymore. If you still see it, keep going. Once you can't see it, sand it in a circular motion feathering it out to the side a bit. At this point the paint will look dull which is normal. Buy some of that Scratch X Swirl / scratch remover ( doesn't matter the brand) and buff that crap into the panel real well extending about 4" out larger than the sanding marks. Wipe that away and boom, back to normal. Add your favorite paste wax and smile.

I still think someone keyed it. The bumper sticks out so much what are the chances it hits that high and over the outermost part of the bumper. And I always park as far as possible. Its pretty deep. Gonna try to get it looked at by a professional.

Doubt it being keyed, maybe someone bumped into it with a cart or their car? That second picture doesn't look like a scratch, it looks like a crack in the lens, those scuffs look more random and too odd to be done by a key/object. Not to mention the relative proximity and direction of the damage seems to imply impact rather than someone keying the vehicle.

Culprit... lazy ass people flinging packs and purses with tons of shit hanging off them into their back seats, in the process of flinging coming in contact with the car next to them... ask me how I know, I've seen it happen more than a dozen times, my office overlooks our work parking lot.
