Saggy Butt, Lift or not to Lift?

Alright, my 1989 has the same sagging issues as everyone else!! and as i look for replacement leaf springs i can only find ones that lift the vehicle?
does anyone have new leaf springs on theirs and it sits at stock height? also what are the costs associated with replacing the suspension not only in the
back but also for the front?

I have priced out the oldman emu suspension kit i think its a 4 inch lift
for 925 bucks... does this kit include everything im going to need? Basically, i want your help pricing and seeing the difference between a lift and stock level suspension... if i can find a stock level suspension.

also i forgot to add im currently running 31' BFG all-terrains on the stock alloys would it be/look goofy if i still have those tires on a lifted 4 runner? also while im on the subject of the alloys has anyone ever had experience painting these wheels black? sorry for all the questions i just bought the 4 runner this last week and im just trying to figure out what i need to do to get this ready for the beach this summer!!

Check JC Whitney and Moog for stock aftermarket replacements.
Double check on the OME, I think you'll find it's more like 2-2.5". And you won't be disappointed, the OME will ride and handle better than new.

If you are truly just interested in just fixing your butt sag, I reccomend the Zuk Coil Mod (Toyota Gear Installs) Scroll all the way to the bottom and look at the links on the left.

How much space is there between the bump stop and rubber bumper? Slap in a pair if 12in coils rated at like 125lbs and it should restore you to stock height and ride a hell of a lot better. You can also email him and see what he reccomends. I'm about to throw in some 14" coils to bring my butt end up to try and match my 4" suspension lift.

Yeah your right fourwd1 i found the OME in the 2-2.5" lift. I found a website
4wd Parts, 4x4 Parts, 4x4 Off-road Accessories, Jeep Accessories, Jeep Wrangler Accessories, Jeep Stuff, Jeep Parts And Accessories, Jeep Truck Accessories and they sell the kit and it includes:

Torsion bars - 168.00

Rear Leaf Spring - (86.00) x 2 = 172.00

Steering Dampner - 70.00

Rear-U-Bolt kit (4)- 39.00

Shocks all the way around - 312

Total - 761

Is this a complete kit? what i mean is this all i will need to completely lift and redo the suspension? Also, think i may be able to sacrifice the shocks and pick up something a little cheaper or is 312.00 for 4 offroad shocks average?

That is "a" complete kit. The torsion bars are nice, very beefy and you can crank on them more than the stock bars without sacrificing the ride quality as much as stock T bars.

The shocks aren't that pricey but they are nice, I would get them. Don't forget to order your hanger pins (from the stealership) for the leaf springs, you may want to consider new shackles also, bushings at a minimum.
I just did this install on my 87 4runner minus the torsion bars, nothing but pleased with the result.

I need your help

I have a 95 that looks like it has a saggy butt and I'm going to be hauling a 5x9 uhaul trailer from Chicago to California soon. Do I need to be changing something on my truck to address this issue? This ruck has 174K but it's been well cared for and I want to make sure I take care of it.

In your case you probably need new coils and shocks for the rear. I would do it for peace of mind before taking such a long trip with a trailer.
