Hey all,

We are having a sale on the rear lower control arm skids for the 3rd gen. These skids weld on to your stock arms and provide some much needed beef so you don't bend your stock arms if you drag them over a rock like this one

you can also use them to straighten out your stock arms if you already bent them.

dang wish I had the cash. I bent my arm a couple weeks ago. Luckily local wrecking yard had a few link arms available.

I'm glad you were able to find a used one. I felt bad about that, I didn't exactly talk you out of doing that rock garden, but I should have known those 1st couple big boulders were going to be a biotch.

Ha I bent mine the day before you bent yours, chances are it was on the same trail. Mine is not bent much though. I always pack a spare and still will after the sliders are installed, but it will be for those who need it.:hatsoff:
 
Looks like UPS has picked up my skids from Toytech and on their way to a new home. Thanks for the info. I had no idea the LCA are so bendy. I am a greenhorn at this though.

And so the mods slowly begin on my truck.

How about some guards for the rear LCA mounts (on the frame), anyone make some? Those mounts are rock catchers and I'm surprised nobody seems to make anything for protecting them. I'm thinking like some 3/16" steel around the sides, front, and as much of the bottom as possible...

Exactly! Do they or anyone else make them for 3rd gens? I'm surprised they have them for the 4ths (since there are alot more modded 3rds out there and the market is bigger).
 
Brian it is because the 4th Gens share same link set up as the FJ cruisers so they were designed for the FJ and work on the 4th Gens. I am trying to remember who on here had some on their 3rd Gen. there was a link about a year ago for those guards along with the lower shock mount guard.

Interesting, lemme know if you remember who it was that has them. I might give Total Chaos a call today and see how much it would cost to have them make me some custom (if they will). Maybe I can convince them to start making them if others are interested??
