salvage tailgate removal

Howdy everyone!

I heed a "new" tailgate. Mine got smushed this weekend. I found one in mint condition at a U-Pull-it place, but I have no idea how to manually lower the windoe to get the dang thing out. The rest of the car is pretty much gone, so all the wiring has been snipped. We tried to jump the window motor itself, but I fear it has froze up over the years. My motor in my current tailgate is still good, so if need be, I can swap them out.

If the motor is bad, swapping your good one in sounds like a good answer.

I wouldn't bother swapping in a new motor, since the glass will drop when you take out the old motor.

Actually if I remember the rear window is on a spring bind But then again its been almost 3 years since I pulled mine apart so I am probably wrong.

on the same subject my tailgate is dented in so the window wont close how did you get your gate opened..
