Hey all. I'm going to start a Google Group and get it going for us. If you can PM your email address (gmail preferred) I can start adding you all to it. I'll also be bringing a notebook with me so I can take down the emails of folks that either forget or that aren't subscribed to this forum (Our Taco family). Pass the word around and see you this upcoming Saturday!

Holy crap can't believe this is happening. I might call up Fralo's and let them know a big party is headed their way. See if they can't block out parking spaces and give us some discounts on their grub!

PS: I'll also PM you back my email address upon receipt of yours. In case you feel wary of that, I don't mind until we meet in person and if you're comfortable then you can put down the email addy into the notebook. It's only to add you to the group so we can have a free area to organize future meetings and keep up to date with ideas/events.

Hey all. There aren't native apps that make Google groups easy to use. However have you guys heard of the app "MeetMe"?

It's a really good application that acts almost like Microsoft outlook with a GUI. It can make events, tally who can go, post messages to all users, message peer to peer and more. Pretty useful little program.

I can make a group and you can join it up. It uses the local area to determine how it pushes the group itself to the public to help it gain members and interest.

Only one issue... It costs 60 bucks for six months of hosting our group. I'm totally down for paying it on my own, but I want to make sure we have a good amount of interest. We will find out come this weekend, but in the meantime if you guys wanted to either yay or nay it for the time being I'm open to see what you guys think.

IMO i think easiest route is Facebook, i know you mentioned you don't have one but you could create one really quick. Its very easy to start a group there and does all the things you mention plus more, easy app on phone and its FREE.
 
Got some 3" inch hail at my house tonight, but thankfully it only hailed for about 1 minute or less. No broken glass but a small dent near my fuel door is what I could determine in the dark.
 
1 on my hood and 3 on the roof so far from what in saw under a wash Bay in the gas station.

And I just got her a month ago too :/
 
I got some dimples on the hood from the hail last night, already claimed it to my insurance. a friend of mine just got his Hellcat and the hail broke his windshield and left him fist size dents
 
Jesus.... I was going to ask everyone for a sitrep. That weather was insane last night. Sorry about your runners all :( and that hellcat, gosh dang.....

I only had my runner since Feb, and my friend got his hellcat last month and his damage looked like a pissed off ex went off on his ride
 
I drove to an office building near my house and waited it out under their covered parking.

It isn't FJ exclusive as there are people like me with 4runners, or tacos, or LC's. Up until recently it was tied to The Heart of Texas or road club out of Austin.

We are actually having a lunch meetup this weekend, although it is a lunch meetup. We'll be talking about the fore mentioned Jambo, as 20+ of our members are going.

We do lunch meet ups, wrench day meetups, and offroad trip meetups. Unfortunately, due to the muddy nature or the terrain here, we tend to either travel to places like hidden falls, or do beach runs. Every once in a while we do a trip over to down south offroad, but the muddy nature of that and the general douche baggery of the typical clientele makes that not really worth it.

Join up, and come out.
 
Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that I was able to establish with them a 10% discount for all food items purchased for all people coming. Because we will be there earlier than when they open a manager will be available to let us in at 10:30 but they will also make sure that we have parking for our vehicles. I will be in a silver 4Runner with a vault tec Vault boy bobblehead on my Dash. For those of you who love fall out, yes I am a nerd in that regard. I'm looking forward to seeing you all there have a safe Friday and see you tomorrow

Also, if anyone is associated with any other thread or other vehicle Forum, please quote my last post and cross-posted to those sites as well. I love the idea of being a Toyota family and not just limiting us to the 4Runner Club.
