Complains about personal attacks and entreats previous poster to "grow a pair." The irony.

My complaint was not about the personal attacks. My complaint was about selective rule enforcement... Surely you can see the difference.

NYT: Norway Offers Migrants a Lesson in How to Treat Women

Some concerning stuff here. Educating is important.

Pamelageller.com maintains a pretty lengthy list of Islamic honor killings. It's pretty disturbing, but what I find more disturbing is the lack of coverage this receives from the media when it happens here in the states.

Agreed. The very existence of the concept that marriage somehow gives you the 'right' to rape someone (or worse) is simply appalling.

It begs the question: how do people become so f-ing backwards that they think this is OK, especially in the 21st century?

I think I know the answer. When your society has never had a cultural revolution or a philosophical enlightenment, having instead been continuously controlled by religious thought and largely-conservative males, this is the result.

We certainly aren't perfect, but we have already gone (and are still going) through our own cultural and philosophical upheavals, so at least no one here has to worry about being beheaded, stoned, raped on a daily basis by their husband, or being thrown in "sinner prison" by a religious-oriented government for voicing their opinion.

For all the problems we have in this country, I think the very fact that we have different sides and people expressing different ideas is what keeps us from falling apart or going way to far in one direction or the other.

Agreed, I'm not to big on CNN either. At least the lovely Pamela Gellar fits your narrative.

I don't have a narrative, just facts. You on the other hand have had nothing to offer but random comments of no substance. I think that would classify you as trolling based on the forum rules.

Notice how I can agree with articles and posts linked by Brian. Condemning a user that "wishes death to liberals" and disputing the credibility of certain sources is not trolling. Just because it doesn't fit your narrative, does not mean it is trolling. Furthermore, I would not exclude myself from being guilty of trolling if I were you. Others seem to agree as well.

As such, if you do not like what I have to post, then may I remind you that there is an ignore function in the control panel.

I can't help it if some of you lose track of the conversation between pages.

I like reading all the posts, even yours. I just think you should take a good hard look at the link I posted rather than be dismissive because of the source. The brutality those women and children faced is appalling.

That would be assuming that I did not read the link, which I did, and I'm familiar with the work of Pamela Geller. To say that her website does not have a narrative just from reading that link does indeed point out a certain bias. I honestly do not consider her to be credible. This isn't to saw that I consider all critics of Muslims or even Islam to be uncredible. I hope this doesn't come off as a personal attack to you, as I feel that disputing the credibility of certain sources on an issue is an important factor to a discussion, and not a "loss of track". Don't get me wrong, I have a different viewpoint, or perhaps a "bias", from your's as well.

You are way too sensitive.

Personal attacks? Glad I caught that response to ThorInc 's post before the edit.

Those stories are independently verifiable, theres nothing bias about that.

There is no disputing that the stories are verifiable. However, the way these stories are analyzed on that site show a clear bias, whether or not you agree with that bias.

Her bias is irrelevant as it relates to the barbarism of Islam and Sharia. Both of which are inseparable.

I find it puzzling that we're even having this debate considering that liberals fancy themselves as the party of feminism and homosexuality yet welcome muslims and Islam with open arms despite their intolerance and brutality towards both.

Irrelevant? That's bias right there, regardless of one's views on Islam and Sharia. I am even familiar with one of the stories on that link from a local perspective. I can assure you that the coverage on it on that site has a very clear bias in labeling it under "Honor Killing:Islamic Misogyny", when in fact the murder had nothing to do with Islam other than the people involved being Muslims.

See:
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/20/nyregion/husband-is-charged-in-wifes-killing-in-new-jersey.html

Compare it to this rubbish:
New Jersey: Muslim who arranged wife?s murder & blamed Islamophobes gets life sentence | Pamela Geller

I'm sure the victim in this case passed away renouncing her religion.

That site has a blatant narrative just from that one story, since they'll try to twist anything toward their narrative just because they find some Muslim-sounding names in it.

I find it puzzling that we're even having this debate considering that liberals fancy themselves as the party of feminism and homosexuality yet welcome muslims and Islam with open arms despite their intolerance and brutality towards both.

Obviously there had to be a post going after those damn liberals in order to throw the subject off track. Frankly, it's been getting utterly old for a long time. Furthermore, you seem to generalize Muslims and your interpretation of their religion into one biased "fact". Try looking into some work by Maajid Nawaz and Sam Harris. Brian shared a good video with them earlier.

I'm still grappling with the fact a member here wishes death on over 100 million innocent US citizens because they don't agree with his politics.
