San Jose Trails?

I'll be making a road trip up to San Jose in July and was wondering there are any 2WD friendly trails? Just something to escape the paved roads and enjoy mother nature.

You'd have to travel at least an hour out of SJ to find anything. There are some cool outdoors spots but nothing off-road.

When in July? If I'm around I'll take you out to Hollister (about hour and fifteen from SJ). I'm only 30 min from SJ so if you want to take a trip to Santa Cruz let me know.

Ya, like Robert said, Hollister is a fun spot for all types of wheeling.

If you have never been there, its a fun spot to explore. If I have time, I may be up to take a trip out there as well. I usually only get the 4th off so it may be tough in the middle of the week. Check out mine and Roberts build threads to get an idea what what it is like out there.

Keep in mind, my 06 is 2wd and I had a blast out there for the few years I was wheelin it. You can run anything from fireroads to deep rutted out ravines to rock piles to comp buggy courses. Hollister has a little bit of everything for everyone.

Thanks for the well wishes. Just keep an eye on the map and follow the green trails. You should be ok with some of the intermediate trails as well. Just make sure you are exploring with another vehicle and have recovery gear just in case. :thumb:
