Sand filled in the frames

I have tried to flush sand out of the frames several times where I hit and stuck in sand. That could take forever to hose out sand. Are there better options to remove sands from the frames?

Go to a service shop have them use their compressed air wand to blow it out.

There will be a lot on top of the spare tire too. I let mine down and had to sweep the garage floor.

I have air compressor tank. will it work? dont want to put too much effort if it doesnt blow out enough.

The easiest way is to wash it out with a hose. Just put the hose up to one of the holes in the frame for a while and you're done.

There's a good way to find out. My first thought was that high pressure air is the best route. You can buy air nozzles that will direct the air through a tube that may make this easier.

The inside of the frame is probably not painted. Repeated washing with water will probably rust it on the inside.

There are a lot of useful welded nuts along the frame that can be used to anchor DIY mods and stuff. Rusting those will render them useless.

A minor disadvantage to a fully boxed frame -body on frame.

Don't worry about it; the sand isn't hurting anything.

Is there a reason to remove it at all? Won't it just vibrate out on its own after a few 100 miles?

I'd rather keep the sand than flush it out with water.

Toyota trucks start rusting just by staring at them. Let alone hose out anything from down there. just let it be.

water is going to get in there whether it's from rain or a hose, the frame is not water tight

Just drill some big holes along the bottom.


Jk. I'd probably leave it. It'll work its way out. I supposeyour could clean it well and fill with closed cell foam. But I think that wouldbe a recipe for rust over time.
