sandy / gritty steering wheel

Anyone know a fix to my leather wrapped steering wheel in my 01 4runner feeling sandy / gritty when it is humid / raining outside? It's so super annoying! It literally sheds balls of leather.... I'm sure someone has to have the same problem and hopefully a fix... Google search = no help

Mine just fell apart, best advice i can give is find a good upholstrey shop and get it recovered

Try WheelSkins

Lot of guys recover with Wheelskins. You can find them on ebay or most accessories vendors. Do a search, there are some photos on here. I've heard re-upholstrey can be costly, wheelskins vary from $50 to $70.

Mine fell apart years ago too. I just covered it with one of those cushion leather wrap covers and called it a day

what about finding a replacement steering wheel at a junkyard? Or replace it with a Chain Sterring Wheel? (even better)
