satellite "fin" for 4runner

i'm installing satellite radio onto my 07 4runner. i know that the antennae goes on the roof, usually in the back, away from obstructions.

my brother has a 2010 tacoma with satellite radio from the factory and he has a little "fin" on his roof that hides the antennae. Well at least to me it looks like a fin...it's rectangular in shape, smooth edges and matches the trucks' paint color. Looks much better and cleaner than a dull antennae.

is there such a thing for the 4runner, specifically 2007? anyone know or ever hear about this?

thanks!

check ebay, IIRC there some universal ones that work, I do know some people dont want them, and have put the antenna in the dash, to keep it hid, lol

Sat Radio

I can't remember who posted this, but there was a member here who routed the GPS and Sat Radio antenna into the non tube luggage rack. The forward facing round plastic covers that cover your luggage rack hardware snaps off and he fabricated a very easy mount to keep it in place. Do a search for it, there were lots of pics and I was very impressed. The location is perfect and out of the way, and there's no exposed wires or need for a Fin if that appeals to you.

i saw his posting on this...very clever and very clean. i have the 07 sport edition with the sport package, meaning i have the tubed racks...so it won't work. i've also read that you need a 3" clearance in all directions for the antennae.

for anyone else who stumbles across this page, here's the install we're talking about:

i'll continue to look for a fin, preferably in galactic grey!
