Satoshi Grille Mod.

I have a 98' 4R and was wondering if anyone here has done the Satoshi grille mod by replacing the grille. here is a link:

I have already been in contact with a company called online metal store for the expanded aluminum for a good price but the emblems are out of this world. The mod calls for a 69-73 emblem which is small but i was wondering what you guys think about using a new FJ emblem which is

part # 7531190K00 and 14''x2.25''

here it is on a Tacoma grille but the grille is bigger.

Do you think that the emblem will be to big?

just looking for some opinions.. I have a white 4runner sr5 with chrome bumpers and grille so I'm thinking about painting the whole grille white, aluminum mesh insert black and emblem white.

I am a big fan of the "satoshi" grille mod. I don't see a reason why the bigger FJ Cruiser emblem would be a problem as it comes down to your visual preference. The bigger emblem may be a bit more bold and look great (imo)with the paint scheme you mention. There are a few guys on here that left the chrome outer and painted the mesh black-those look good too. Please post pics when you are done!

I'm doing the Satoshi mod soon but I will not be doing any logos or badges at all. Just my preference, so given that I think the FJ 'Toyota' badge will be too large. I don't like the FJ40 version either.

The only style of emblem/badge that I like for this mod is something small and 'discrete', like this one on a Surf.

The only style of emblem/badge that I like for this mod is something small and 'discrete', like this one on a Surf.

Mine is almost identical to this BUT I have the TRD badge on the other side. Looks pretty good.

Mine is still unfinished but I'll get back on it soon enough I suppose.

Same steps, different style. I actually bought a used grille off of ebay so i wouldn't have to cut up my original grille.

I bought a new one off of ebay thats why I am in no rush to complete.
