Oh yea it's on my radar :thumb3:. I like that southern part of the forest but only time will tell if we make it. Thanks for keepin me in the loop.
Just did a dirt bike camp and ride in Ocala last weekend. http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=920957
Base camp was a bit north near Camp Blanding at Gold Head Branch State Park. About 100 riders on everything from the big BMW GS adventure bikes to TW 200's. Us fast burners (A group) were 16 strong and did 130 miles on Sat. Fun time in the woods! Just a few spots of the super soft stuff.

sounds good. i think we are going to reserve a site friday and saturday. from what i read, they let you come into the camp after hours if you let them know your coming late (they give you a gate code.) i have a 3 hour drive after work so im hopeing to get there by 9 on friday

Im gonna try to make it! lol.. My 4Runner is 2WD but i took it off roading last week and it did amazing! Besides another 4Runner i was the only one that didnt get stuck.. Are we Toyota only for this event?

I cant go its my birthday and a bunch of people and I are doing some shooting and what not. Maybe next time thanks for the invite though.

Sorry your gonna miss us Diverse. We also had a birthday party come up but we are going in the afternoon evening after the ride. After wheeling with almost exclusively Jeeps for the lase couple years we are not gonna miss this. Happy Birthday and I hope they got you some ammo.

What channel does everyone monitor on their CB's? Just curious incase someone has an issue on the way out, etc.

Any chance one of yall has a 4th gen sport edition wheel or two for sale? How about a TPMS sensor that still works? Or the ultimate find a sport edition wheel with a TPMS in it? Or perhaps a set of front FJ springs? I added a receiver winch set up and it is too heavy for the stock springs. Figured I would ask on a what the heck while we were all getting together.

thanks for the heads up nolerunner. I am going to try to make it, never been to one of these meets yet. If I did come it would be with my 5 and 2 year old, wife's working. I have 4wd but tires are not aggressive whatsoever. Can we bring dogs in there also.

Heck YES bring your kids. There will be other kids for your to play with too.
Having 4x4 is the primary need, not aggressive tires. Perhaps as s a precaution go by harbor freight and buy a shackle and a strap without the metal hooks or cut the hooks off of it. If the hooks slip off they become deadly missiles and can go through the window of your rescuer. Just find a good recovery point on the front and rear of your vehicle and make sure you can hook it up quickly. If you get stuck but can hop out and quickly gear up to make it easy to pull you out you will never be at a lack of people to help you.
As for the dog of course you can bring him/her to the forest anytime. No rules against it. However when coming to a group event it is expected you will not inflict it on the other members of the group and especially their kids. Respectfully I ask that when the dog is out of your vehicle please keep it on a tight leash and away from strangers that way no one has to be on edge for their safety when they are out to have fun. Cool?

that size works well on my 1988 4Runner. I spent last Saturday running some of those sand roads.
Try FR 58, its a doozy. Runs east and west off of FR 11, just south of CR 314. Killer sand. :evil:

Thanks greg i totally understand about the dogs (retriever and lab) . Some people are just uncomfortable around dogs especially with their children I'm the same way with my kids.
