Regular unleaded is $2.53 here in Cincy. Maybe even cheaper in other areas. I am so happy!

Gasoline Prices

$2.46 in the Richmond, VA area last night. Keep it going!

(The 'summer blend' fuel has been discontinued in our market, which helps to reduce the price somewhat.)

All of the folks who fearfully sold their SUV's and 4 X 4 pickups at drastically low prices and who opted for smaller/more efficient cars, they're the same fools who like others who sold their stocks at the bottom of the current stock market cycle.

With fuel prices dropping, and even w/o them dropping, they would NEVER have made up the price differential of unloading their SUV for a smaller car at firesale prices.

Plus, when the snows and hard weather soon hit, these same folks who bought a Ford Focus type of vehicle and who basically gave away their higher quality (and safer) SUV, will be kicking themselves hard in the foot.

It was $2.59 yesterday in Columbus. We grocery shop at Giant Eagle and use the fuelperks card, so with discounts I ended up paying $1.39 a gallon - and I take an extra gas can so I can get all 30 gallons allowed. Nice to run the truck and my wife's Volvo for a week for $45!

Of course, those OPEC f$#kers are supposed to be meeting to artificially adjust the price again this Friday so it won't last. Probably won't go back up to $140+ a barrell for a while because the whole world is in a slowdown.

Wow, $1.39. I think that's what gas cost a decade ago.

Yeah them OPEC dbags will definately kill recovery if their successful in raising the price of crude by cutting production.

Regular unleaded is now $2.34 here in Cincinnati and maybe even cheaper in some areas. With OPEC agreeing to cut production, the prices are bound to go up here in the near future IMO.

That would be a normal equation.

They announced cuts and the market responded with a giant "screw you" dropped oil to $64 from $66-67. I think it'll go up for a bit now but stay relatively low because people aren't spending, so demand isn't going to increase despite a reduction in production. But once elections are over and by next year at this time I think gas will be high again, oil companies have gotten consumers acquainted to $4 gas. I do hope I'm wrong.

I love how the oil companies play it when asked about why isn't gas a lot cheaper at the pumps yet. They responded, because the current gasoline sold isn't refined from sub $70 oil. But then when oil was above $130-140, the gas being sold wasn't from $130 oil either. Greedy mofos. The oil industry is going reap any profits they can before alternative energy becomes mainstream. This is their chance.

Yea, definitley. I noticed that yesterday. Short term, crude and gasoline will be down. However, longer term, it's going back up. All but guarantee it. The main reason it's down so much is because of the global demand has decreased dramatically. With all of the talk of a global slowdown in growth, it only makes sense that crude would retreat from its recent highs.

I think demand will stay down for 2 to 3 years. This is going to be a long recession imo. Demand will increase however in China and India, that may offset some of the low prices

Enjoy the reduced prices while you can. No doubt - it will go back up.

One thing that nobody mentions is our lack of refinery capacity. Just one "incident" or Gulf hurricane and we're back up above three bucks again.
:bash:

All the crude oil in the world won't do us a bit of good until we can refine it into gasoline, diesel, kerosene, jet fuel, etc., etc. The temporary drop in prices is also because we are no longer using the more expensive "summer blend" fuels. That is 5 to 7 cents per gallon right off the top.
