Saw my first TE last night

I was snooping at the dealer at like fricken midnight and found one there , I really like the features (except radio/TomTom)
Atrac on/off
VSC on/off
E rear locker

and a few other interior things , 16" 265/70/16 tires , ect... All in all I like it !!!!!!

NO V8 arrrrrg !!

That is debatable.

Why doesnt it come with fogs? Makes no sense to me really.

Then debate it. A stock V8 4Runner isn't going to go anywhere the V6 can't and aren't fogs still an option?

I've yet to see one in person. I stopped by a couple different Toyota dealers in the last several months to look for one and the salespeople look at me like I'm crazy when I mention it - tell me it doesn't exist. Their story changes to "oh they're not available in the southeast" once I show them the official Toyota site with the info on my iphone

I agree with Ron though that the V6 makes more sense for a limited production dedicated trail model -I think it's a couple hundred pounds lighter if I'm not mistaken. Perhaps if we were back in 2004 they might have made one with a V8 too but by the time the '09 model year rolled around we were already well into the Great Recession and V8 SUVs just ain't selling like they used to.

Got my TE in March, fog lights were included as standard equipment. Like everything except the TomTom, too small and hard to see from the drivers seat, so I will be installing my Garmin using a Proclip mount on the vent, as soon as it gets here.

well Ive had a V6 (3.4) and now have the V8, now I dont know anything about new V6 in the Runners, but IMHO I prefer the V8, and yep, Ive been know to wheel a little, lol. as far as a "benefit" I do like having the extra ponies, sure its heavier, but I like having them extra ponies on the obsticles, but thats me, lol

V8 torque might make things easier but it's not like a V6 model will be left behind.

I love the v8 I have , but would never hesitate to have a 6cyl.

Off road my guess a 6 (especially the TE pkg ) will go anywhere a v8 can and probably then some with the added traction options.


OK NO MORE V6/V8 DEBATE !!!!! WE ALL KNOW THE NEW V10 WILL DOMINATE !!!
