SAW rear coil

I was wondering if anyone is using the SAW rear coil . Supposed to provided 1.5" of lift . It would perfect with my TT Ultimate kit coming. I am worried the superflex coils will be to high for the rear. They say 2-2.5" which is to much.

I am trying to lift and level a bit but height is not my main goal , having a good suspension is . I plan or would like to lift the front 2.0-2.5 (max) and the back 1.5 " .

I will put aftermarket black rims on ,so it still should look ok with stock tire size which I would prefer to keep . Also this lower lift will keep me confident traveling at higher rates of speeds . Having a lower center of gravity.

When I installed my Toytec Ultimate set up... the front was a good 1.5" higher than the rear and I had to lower the coilovers. You might just wait and see how it comes out. I wished the toytec coils were a bit taller.

Yes but like I said I don't want a big lift , just a little and a better handling suspension.

You truck looks awesome and looks huge to me !!

They said they are usually have them set at about 2.5" approx and depending on what spring I run in back would adjust that down lower ...hopefully .

When you adjusted side to side did you do it with a full tank of fuel or 1/2 tank to balance out right to left ? Its nice to be able to do that then you will not have the classic 4R lean as you lift and can get it somewhere close.

Did you install yourself ? It seems pretty straight forward . How is the ride and handling ??

Mine should be here next week , just waiting on the red springs , since I did not want the silver ones.

I did do the lift by myself, however due to the time it took me, If i coulda paid someone $300-400 to install it for me... I would have. Its pretty straight forward, however just make sure you read a couple write ups if you can. Someone elses little tricks of the trade might save you 20 min.-hours of frustration.

After the lifts on and your dialing in the height by cranking the coilovers up or down definitely grab some sort of long bar to slide over the spanner wrench to make easier to turn.

I had about a 1/2 tank of of gas during the install so I gave myself about a .5" more lift on the drivers side.

The ride and handling are extraordinarily better. The nose dive when braking was really bad when i first got it from the dealer and now its not near as noticeable. It really is a great kit that you have coming. The ride is very comfortable, even with bigger MT tires.

My friend owns a frame and axle shop and he could install it for me .

He is good , fast and very smart with 4x4's . been doing it for 40 years . Also can do alignment when all is settled in. prob only cost a couple hundred and a few cases of beer.

Don't you have to lift the front end up with a jack to do the adjustments ?

Nice... I'd take your buddy up on it and see if you can hang out with him while he does the install. It'll make you a lot more confident in the future if you ever need to do anything yourself.

As for adjusting the coilovers... You have to jack it up and take the tires off. I did it in my driveway, so I did it one side at a time. I probably took the tires on and off close to 3x. Kind of annoying but i was being slightly OCD about it. You might shoot toytec a call and ask how much thread movement on coilover equals in comparison to actual lift.

I believe its .5" on the coilover= 1" of actual lift.

I believe Harper did the SAW coils and said they did give him the advertised 1.5" and stiffer than stock, but not too stiff.

Hey Bob - how are you liking the FJ rear springs? I remember reading your writeup - still pleased with the upgrade? I'm considering it with Billies 5100-1.75" in the front. How much rear lift did you end up with, .5" - .75"?

TIA!

well I did all 4 shocks and 4 coils so i can't comment on just the coils, but i think the shocks are doing more for the ride than the coils. i ended up with 1/4" front and 1/2" rear lift. i just got some 1" LIFT pre-load spacers for the front which will help level it out and also should further stiffen the front. i am happy with the FJ coil/shock mod, but would have liked the springs to be a bit stiffer. still a very good improvement over stock, i feel mostly due to the shocks. like others have said, i would venture the 5100's would also be a good improvement over stock. i think in the future (maybe when i need new tires and want to go just a little bigger), i may go with the new coils all around. maybe SAW rears, not sure about the front.
