Most likely its a production over run of the older model or the factory in China has started selling them direct.

Surprise, most all roof top tents are made in China.

Guy on Expedition Portal recently reported a similar situation, super low price, too good to be true for a Tepui RTT on Ebay. Seller faked a signed receipt slip, got jerked around for a bit, before Ebay refunded him.

Could also be a knock off/copy hence the low price.

These are manufactured in Korea, not China. I have met and dealt with the owner directly. He would never be able to sell these to anyone at that price. If they are shipping from China, they are most likely a knock off.
 
For me Chase and most CC companies would protect you if their fraud team finds it to be a true scam, you might have to get a new card after reporting it.
 
It's certainly not an out of the realm price for what a RTT is. It's a tent with a box. It's not really a difficult item to manufacture. You're probably paying more for shipping costs in the retail price of most of them than you are for the item.

I order a a few things here and there from alibaba vendors or aliexpress. Usually industrial electronic components. I've never had a bad experience. It usually takes a while to be delivered.

Buying a Chinese knock off isn't the worst. Usually made in the same factory or something like that without the branding. I did see the following tidbit though that was hilarious.

Shipping fee:
$4,200.07 to United States by Express EMS

One hell of a shipment.

If it was a reasonable shipping fee, I'd consider it over a discounted Yakima soft tent or something similar.

Shipping is really the killer for something this big/heavy. Here's a different model with free shipping. Often all of these things are negotiable. I think you could buy a regular style one for around $300/ea if you ordered a container full.

SCAM For Sure

This site lists multiple products that are several thousand dollars - all for $799. Speedvagen bicycles. Sylvan Sport Go campers. Several RTTs. This is clearly a scam.
 
75% sure a scam, two days ago I clicked on their Contact link and they never responded back to my inquiry about the tent. Maybe I need to wait another week for a response back in poor Engrish.
 
iKampers are made in South Korea, not China. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. I purchased a camp chef propane stove from one of these sites and was sent a cheap coleman stove. I paid via paypal and they would not give me a refund unless I shipped the coleman stove to Vietnam. Shipping the stove to Vietnam would've cost me more than the stove was worth. This is how they scam people. Needless to say, I was not refunded.
