Real time gauges and AFR (if wide band equipped) code reading, trans temp etc. then again I have all these features on my iPhone with Rev but it'd be nice to have something mounted in the truck.

I bought one to monitor tranny temps when hauling my trailer and my real speed vs. what the speedo reads.

Why people go nuts for these is pretty much the same as why people go nuts for LED's or subs or lifts or anything else people like.

I have read that you cannot read Trans temp, which is the main reason I wanted one. Is it only on certain years the Trans temp readout works on?

I'm not aware of that MikeP, mine's spot-on with the tranny temp. My only disappointment was how inaccurate altitude readings are but that's not a big deal.

I purchased it right before a 3k road trip...thought it would be a fun tool. I'm still trying to dial in mpgs'...still seems off. I adjusted the speed by 5% for my larger tires, is there anything else I should adjust? Inputed 19 gallon tank, 4.7liter engine...only getting 14.9 miles per gallon on highway doing 70, seems very low to me.

I don't have a Scan Guage but for 265/70/17 I need to add 5 - 6% to truck odo get reasonably accurate mpg, so your tire would require adding a bit more than that.

Not sure if that info does you any good.

4th gens have a 23 gallon tank.
