Scion Headunit & Ipod

MAC4Runner

After extensive searching I've decided to go with a USA Spec PA11-TOY interface for my Ipod Mini and Scion headunit. What other items do I need? I'm planning on purchasing via car domain and was wondering if I need one or both of the following interface cables?:
- PAC AB-TOY
- PAC AB-TOYT

I don't want to pull apart the dash and found out I'm one cable short!

Any other tips or advice?

TIA

I just ordered the usaspec from cardomain and came with everything needed for ipod to work. adapter from headunit to usespec, and cable from usaspec to ipod. Unless you plan on hooking up more stuff, that is all you should need. If you want to use the aux in, then you might want to get a set of rca audio cables (red / white) and run them while you have everthing apart.

MAC4Runner - I'm not sure if you've seen the Dension Ice Link. It pretty much does everything that the USA Spec for the IPOD, plus it puts the IR3 tags on your head unit.

The icelink though does not have that aux in.

Do a search and the Ice Link has been discussed as well as pictures posted.

If I am not mistaken, you cannot control the ipod through the ipod buttons with the Denison ice link. Also, it is almost $100 more.

That extra $100 is worth not having to peer down to look at the small ipod screen. I feel the IPOD screen gets washed out in the sunlight more so than the head unit text. Also it takes less time to glance at the head unit to see what song is playing. Those precious moments could be the difference between rear ending someone.

I'm not certain about controlling the IPOD through the IPOD buttons, but why would I need to when I can go from track to track or my play lists through the head unit or steering wheel controls.

Thanks for the heads-up. So if I want to have the track info displayed on my Scion Headunit I have to go with the ice link correct?

Do you have a link to a retailer?

TIA
