Scion + Ipod

I have a T1808 coming in the mail.

Am I understanding correctly that all I need to control the Ipod through the head unit is the SC12235 cable?

The SC12235 cable allows the ipod functions to be selected by the headunit, along with charging of it.
I have one myself and it works great.
This takes the place of three other factory cables.
They are usually available on ebay under SC12235

anyone know where to get one of these SC12235 cables for cheap? ie. not 70 bucks, which is about double what i paid for the T1808 HU.

Go to radio shack. spend $1.20 on a pack of resistors. jump the 19 to 14 plug. Do exactly what this guy does in this thread. http://www.xbsite.com/forum/thread-1702.html
