Scion Radio and JBL system

I sent mail to OEMValue since it looked they really have researched the stock systems to work with the NAV systems they sell.

Below is the response I received. If in fact there is a built in amp in the radio then it definitely will not work with the external amp. All the post I had received said it was a head unit so I assumed it did not have a built in amp.

Anyone have any knowledge different than this?

Don't even try it. The JBL sound system in the 4Runner uses an amplifier. The Scion unit has a built in amplifier. There is no possible way to manufacture a plug, if you try, you may see sparks. I'm sorry about the bad news, however trust my advice, I'm very knowledgeable about all of the JBL sound systems installed in recent vehicles. If you're looking to upgrade, I do have a navigation system that would work with your amplifier.

Yeah I've seen in people's post about the SCION radio that it in fact DOES NOT work if you have the JBL system. If you have the stock 6 speaker system it WILL WORK.

It's the stock navi out of the Toyota Solara.
