I followed the Scion thread, with like a million posts, and after reading it through decided it was something I wanted to try. I won the bid on a Scion T1806 off E-Bay and it was $70.00 well spent. At first I was disappointed with the sound until I hit the middle SSP button and punched it to the 'feel' mode. What a difference. The first selection was 'neutral', which makes it sound like a stock 4Runner stereo. The extra options that come with this head unit, the better sound quality, and plug and play ease is something that I would bid upwards to $150.00 to win off E-Bay.
One word of advise - I noticed people posting in the other Scion thread that if you want to use the other antenna plug-in on the back of the Scion deck that you needed to drill through the little piece of metal. This is not necessary, just get some needle nose pliers and bend the metal back. Then use some tin snips or dikes and cut the smaller end pieces and bend the metal piece back and forth until it breaks off - mine broke off clean and it looks exactly like the back of the factory 4 Runner deck now where there are (2) plug-ins for the antennas. No need to spend all that time taking the rear covering off the Scion deck or risk metal shavings in the back of that thing.
