Back in the day ( when I was 17. 1997 ) when PIAA came out w/ their "Platinum Super White" series, I remember it was anticipated to be the biggest thing. So I purchased a set of 9006, H3 ( for my factory fog lights ) and a set of Platinum 1000xt driving lights for my 1990 Nissan 300zx. The entire set-up was superb compared to standard bulbs.
I still have my 1990 Nissan 300zx. It doesn't get driven often @ all. And rarely @ night. The 9006 bulbs have burned out, and only 1 of the 1000xt and H3 bulbs still works. But they do work great still.
I have been keeping my eyes open for some old school PIAAs to put on my daily driver ( 1998 Honda Accord ). I'm sure the technology has gotten a lot better and there are better kits out there, but call me "old school" I still like the nostalgic look of these lights. After all they did run $299 ( 1000xt ) and $399 ( 1400 ) back in the day.
So I came across these new in box kits. The boxes have been opened but everything in the box still new un-opened and never used. $200 for both.
I thought and was hoping the 1400's were the old school ION yellow fogs. But They are the platinum superwhite fogs. Oh well these 2 kits and a set of HIR1 should improve the visibility on my Accord quit a bit.
