Scored some FJ TRD shocks today

Had to drive out an hour but found a seller who was trying to get rid of some TRD FJ shocks/coils at a garage sale. I figured I'd try them out since they are cheap, may give me a bit of a lift, and a firmer ride without being too firm.

I have no idea what to do yet but will these fit my 2005 V8 4R without any mods to any parts? In other words- a straight bolt-on? Anything to watch out for during the install?

Nice find! They are a direct bolt on, no modification at all is needed. As for what to watch out for, take a look at my install thread (link in sig), between my comments and the other threads I link to you should know all you'll need to know. Biggest thing is that there is a difference between right/left (on the front at least). I also advise using this spacer to finish leveling the T4R, you'll need to purchase two of them. They don't complicate the install at all, you just set it on top of the assembled shock and bolt it in.

Thanks, brother. This will be a good step up from stock till I figure out what lift, what springs, etc. Been looking at the Bilstein 5100s, Sway-a-Ways, Icons, etc. but this will at least firm up the ride and between a small lift from this and my new tires, I'll be happy for a few months at least....and get a bit more of that needed clearance for the trails.

also have an option of getting 07 FJ TRD coils and shocks.
Was there any issues installing them, or riding? Do you know how many miles the coils and shocks have on them now? (the ones I'm considering have 55K already)

This thread is 4 years old.. There will be no issues with install, as covered in post 2. Mileage doesn't matter if the coils aren't sagging, ask them for a before/after lift (I assume they lifted) pic. I got some with ~80k on them, still haven't thrown on, but they looked fine.
