I had new tires installed on my 4Runner. It is a 2000 SR% and came with the factory upgrade of P265 70 R16. Now when I make a right hand turn I hear a scraping noise. It is metal to metal as the wheel spins. Is it possible the brake shield got loosened and is now rubbing on the rotor?

Could be the brake sheild, that's easy enough to check. On my 00 I had added the 3 spoke alloys, they were remanned, and the first time I rotated the tires I got grinding in turns. Ended up being the rim itself was rubbing when moved to the front, I swapped them back and had no more problems.

I had the same problem. I checked out near the wheel base and the sway bar end link was broken.
