My first post, please be gentle.
I just purchased a 2006 4Runner Sports Edition. It is only 3 weeks old as I type this. I went out and bought custom neoprene seat covers here in Hawaii. Spent 260 duckettes on these seat covers and after taking them home, I couldn't figure out how to put them on. I called and was told to take it to their factory where they would install for free. I did as I was told and was told that I was given the wrong seat covers and they needed to be adjusted. (I know, what's the question) well so I'm standing there watching this little dude install my seat covers and I'm walking back and forth and as I come back to my car, I look over at my passenger side door plastic molding (both front and back) and I see some scratches in the molding. I can actually see the scratches from the drivers side doorway. I walk over and I can see that there are about 4 deep scratches. I look at the installer (whose giving me this little crap eating grin) and I ask (with a loud voice) "Hey do you have anything sharp in your pockets? Look what you did!" He looks at me and denies scratching the car and he shows me that he doesn't have anything in his pockets. I then noticed the metal buttons on his jeans (you know the ones by the pocket). I looked at him and I couldn't say anything. I was so pissed off. Bottom line, I never saw him do it, I know that I can't prove it, but I JUST KNOW THAT LITTLE BASTARD DID IT. So anyway, the question is, is there a way to remove or buff or at least make it look a bit nicer. The scratch is deep enough that you can see "white" in the scratch. I was thinking about complaining to the owner, but I realized that there was no point since they're just going to deny and it ain't worth the hassle. I just won't reccomend them to anyone. As I was leaving I scolded the installer one more time and he kinda nodded and smiled ( I took that as an apology, but I know that it won't hold up in court) and he nodded that he would be more careful in the future. Anyway long post, but any help would be good. I also have a question about water marks, but I'll save that for another post. Since I don't want to get in trouble for talking smack about some company, let me just say, next time go to Wet Okole to get seat covers...that should give you a hint of which seat cover company I went to and shall avoid from now on.
