Scratched rear bumber...

Grrr... Not on my 4Runner but another Toyota with a dark grey painted bumper. I was getting stuff out of the back and had a new carpet may which had glue on the back side and it brushed the bumper leaving a few scratches about 3 inches long. I have never tried anything on scratches on a plastic painted bumper so I am looking for ideas...

Would you happen to have a picture of it? I had hit a cement pole a few months ago and what i did was bought a touch up paint from toyota and i had some rubbing compound, wax and buffer in my garage so i did it myself.

First i cleaned up the area where i screwed up, after drying i used the rubbing compound to take out some of the yellow paint that came from the wall, then i carefully put some of the touch up paint on the messed up area (very thin coating), let it dry and put some more if needed... after it dries waxed it and walahhhh, no more ugly looking bumper... although it wasn't as perfect and professional looking but i was happy with the outcome, you wouldn't even know it got hit...

Don't have a picture but it isn't close to the damage you described. Three small parallel scratches - very fine... Like you took some 60 grit ssandpaper and made one swipe with light -mdeium pressure. I am hoping I can buff tem out without even looking at touch up paint. Trying to get ideas of what to buff with on a dark plastic bumper.
