belt or possibly a worn ac clutch. try tightening the belts and checking them for ware. also there is a cleaner or some type of spray (i dont remember what it is) that you use that will help out with that sound as well. probably not a big deal.

It's almost certainly the belts. Cleaning may help temporarily, but if they're squealing they need to be replaced.

The above posts are talking about belt dressing. I would not reccomend using that. Belts are items that do need to be replaced from time to time due to wear. Just get new ones. Also, from what I have heard is if you use belt dressing that once it wears off the belts will squeal even more.

thanks, i just had three belts replaced, which would it possibly be, if i only hear the noise on startup? also on occasion when i am driving at highway speeds, 60-80 mph, i hear a whoosh noise that lasts for about 3 seconds, it kinda sounds like something is rubbing and it kinda sounds like a neumatic door opening, i have no idea what it could be or how to describe it better, any ideas on that?
