Sea Foam a 4 runner !

Hi Guys !

I reach for you guys again because i want to do a sea foam cleaning on my Runner

I looked at a couple video online and search for the information but canno't find wich is the proper vacuum hose to use to suck out the sea foam on my '04 V8 engine.

Can someone help me (with a picture if possible or a good description) wich hose to use ?

after reviewing almost all of it im still not sure wich one to use hehehe !! there is many opinion going.

If I don't have any other clue ill go with the small black cap just uder the motor cover.

But if anyone still have a picture that shown exactly wich hose to use I would glady appreciate !

I used # 2 when I had my V8 also but I did not get a lot of smoke like people say. I figured it was because I put Seafoam in the tank every other month and I run premium gas.

I have not done it to my V6 but I still put it in the tank and use premium.
 
I use the other end of #3. 1/2 bottle in the vacuum line and 1/2 in the tank. I let it soak for 10-15 minutes, take it out on the freeway for ~40 miles, change the oil, and lastly disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to reset the ECU.

I did go as recommended with the other end of hose #3 and there was a pretty hard suction there.

I did as shown on many youtube video ... 1/3 in gaz tank, 1/3 in motor oil and 1/3 in the vacuum hose !

I did see immediate result the motor was more ''prime'' and the sound has changed a bit. for 10$ a can and 30 minute total to perform it was a very good investment ! will do more often

if ever that can help somebody else in the future

As recommended by UteRunner I used the othe end of hose #3 from the picture with good results

That's awesome!! If anything, I look at it as cheap insurance. You spend $10 dollars or more on crap that you'll never use, or junk food, or... etc..
 
So is it okay to use it in the gas & the oil at the same time? Before or after oil change? I don't know anything about the vacuum lines so I'll stay away from there.

Put the recommended amount listed on the can to a full tank of gas.

And put the recommended amount listed on the can in your oil, run it for awhile before a oil change. I did about 50 miles.

Yes it can be a the same time.

Do you mean 50 miles before you get the oil changed or you went for a 50 mile drive after putting the sea foam in the oil?

I just did my oil change so I should wait? But my husbands is almost due for one about 400 miles left.

Put it in the oil, and drive with it in before a oil change. yes, you should wait.
I hear various amount of miles to drive before changing it after adding the SEAFOAM, in other threads state, 20, 50,100 miles.

The idea is, have it mix with the oil, the oil getting to temp., and the product will loosen the deposits off the metal parts inside the motor. Change the oil.

Yeah forgot to tell that was on a V8 ... Canno't help you for the V6 ... maybe you can put a picture of the inside hood and someone will be able to tell you wich one to use !


About the oil change after putting seafoam in the motor oil ...

On a video from the seafoam company i saw on youtube they tell that there is no need to change your oil right away after a treatment ... they said you can wait to your regular scheduled oil change ..

So do you disconnect the hose while the vehicle is on and pour the SeaFoam in or do you keep the car off and then pour it in and let it sit before turning it on?
 
Get your engine up to operating temp, pull the hose, slowly pour in the specified amount, turn off motor for 5-10 minutes or so, then drive it like you stole it. Some people pour some into the crank while others pour it into the gas tank. I just pour the remainder into the gas tank. I go for a ~50 mile freeway drive, then immediately change the oil.
