Sea Foam - Which Hose?

Can anyone confirm the vacuum hose I have shown in the picture below. I understand you can really eff stuff up if you don't get it right, but 2 different guys at O'Reilly confirmed this hose for me. Thought I'd run it by you guys on the forum. Thanks

Thanks for the fast reply. I've seen other threads on this topic, but none have pics. Do you put the hose directly into the bottle, or do you pour it in? I understand it helps to have someone in the car on the pedal so it doesn't kill the engine...is that necessary? or can you just put your thumb over the hose?

When I foamed my Runner, I pulled that hose and s l o w l y poured the foam into the hose. If you do it right, the hose will suck the Sea Foam out more than you pour it in. When the motor bogs down, stop for a second or two........ And watch the smoke billow out.

Great. So did you have to use a funnel, or very precise aiming? Also...if the engine bogs down do you put your finger over the hole or just leave it open? Im told leaving it open makes it bog down as well eventually. Thanks for the tips so far

That's the hose! Be wary when pulling out into traffic after doing procedure: you'll smoke out an entire intersection and potentially cause an accident... I did lol

Dylan, basically aim and pour. I touched the bottle opening to the hose and tilted. Not enough fluid and it'll sputter. Too much and it'll die. I poured in half the bottle and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then I started it back and held the throttle open. Talk about a ton of white smoke!!!!!!!

Fox, SeaFoam is a carbon cleaner for the motor. Not sure how it works chemically but it removes a lot of crap inside the motor. Used it in 4 of my vehicles so far.

Only 1/3 of the can should go down the main vacuum line.

The Sea Foam can's opening is small enough to where it pours right into the line no problem.

Love this stuff.

Seafoam is an engine treatment that is a bit different than other treatments, in that it is a 100% petroleum product, with not detergents or additives. You can add it to fuel, oil or vacuum lines, with each giving different advantages. I think the real magic is when you put it in the vacuum lines (as this thread talks about).

Hey, mine's a 1994. Not sure where the dashpot is...what function does it serve in the engine bay?

BTW I just did this treatment the other day, worked well. However I didn't quite do 1/3, was being overly cautious. I'm planning to do another treatment this weekend and then some in the oil the following weekend (100 miles before I change the oil and plugs).
