Seafoam Spray - Worked Again

For those of us with high-mileage vehicles, carbon build-up starts to become an issue. There's a lot of us that use seafoam both in the gas tank as well as poured in through the intake. I normally put it through the intake to break down carbon.

I've tried using the Seafoam Spray with great results, even better than the liquid seafoam. It comes with a straw and clip that fits between the air intake and the throttle body that makes sure it is atomized and distributed to all 6 cylinders, unlike the liquid which depending where you use it may only go to a few cylinders.

I had a rough idle lately I could not clear up. Checked spark plugs, wires, boots, oil, etc. and no go, still was there. Remembered I had half a can of Seafoam Spray left and guess what? Rough idle gone. It's easier to use than the liquid too, I recommend it since the spray goes exactly where you need it.

If you have a few min, this video shows very well how well it works and what it does (has before & after of pistons).

Any way you can post a picture of where exactly you sprayed between the intake and throttle body?

My neighbors hate me so bad. Flood lights till 2am. Jack Stand tuning turbo 4 banger in garage. Seafoam clouds. Air compressors and Grinding. They hate the crap out of me.

TILL THEY ASK FOR HELP ON THERE CAR.

Happened to my brother and I sea foaming his old Accord. Let's just say they were less than pleased. Cops that came with that it was hilarious, which was a plus.

That's how my Dad showed me to do it with the old carburetor equipped cars. We've used water or ATF with great results. Used ATF the same way we use sea foam now.

And then you go help them change brake pads. They somehow make it out of the neighborhood without touching the brake pedal, and almost cause an accident at the intersection because the pistons hadn't pressed all the way back out yet. How one doesn't check their brakes before getting on a major road after working on them I will never know...

Thats the reason why I always do "brake check" right after i change brakes
Slam on the brakes a couple times to make sure everythings good to go
 
Just seafoamed my old Taurus tonight through one of the vac lines. Thanks for posting this thread! I too had a slight lumpy idle and it seems to have cleared up.

Haha! I did this the other day and a couple of my neighbors came out of their house quick to see what was going on. Oops. Guess I shoulda said something.
 
With this method of spraying it into the throttle body don't you run the risk of it getting into your Throttle Positioning Sensor and fouling it?
I know this happens when people clean their throttle body so I would imagine it would be risky with this type of treatment

Not if done correctly. The spray shoots behind the throttle valve and doesn't even touch the idle air bypass hole at the bottom.

The TPS is located on the outside of the throttle valve, so there's no chance of contamination.

i did this yesterday and it was very easy and no problems so far. The engine definitely purrs...
 
I have seafoamed previous vehicles but not my 4runner. It had 160k. Still think this would be OK to do? I used to get amazing results on my 4th gen 4runner and Tacoma.
