Seafoamed!!

Hi All,

Long time lurker here and my first post to the forum. I'll be starting a build thread soon but for now here is a vid of the 4r getting the seafoam treatment.

3 cans in the tank, 1/2 in the crankcase, and 1/2 in the PCV hose.

Results: super clean and super smooth :thumb3:

Glad you like the Seafoam treatment. Hope it works well for you.

A little heads up on the graphic nature of your music choice would be awesome next time. Some of us have young kids present :infidel:

I don't know much about seafoam, and even less about the music in the video.....and I think I'm happy about that!:surfer:
 
If your 4runner has a questionable past if buying used then Seafoam is a good idea but if like myself I run a can of BG's 44K through my system once a year and you should never need a Seafoam treatment. It should just be one time treatment on an older engine but if cared for since new then it doesn't need to be done.
 
BG's 44K is a strong fuel system additive that cleans out the whole system and it better for it's $20+ a can pricetag. I've been using the stuff for over 13 years and it did an excellent job of keeping my hard driven and raced turbo Eclipse's fuel system in working order.

I just use that once a year and don't worry about things.

Anywho, I've been seeing Seafoam threads pop up occasionally, but never really thought about doing it since my truck runs pretty well. However, I think it can't hurt do it. I think I'll try it on my way to my parents this Christmas. It's a 230 mile trek from Houston to Ingram TX, and I think running it through the tank will be the safest bet for me. But, I'm curious about something. Why use premium gasoline? Wouldn't using 87 octane work just as well if my engine was running a long steady distance?

I would be hesitant to do the full treatment too often, but it varies. Check out the wiki writeup at ultimateyota

That's a good question... When I did my treatment I used 91 just for shiggles.

It took a while but was finally able to get the vid from my buddy and strip the audio. Consider it a silent film...the art of seafoam.
