Sealed Alternators

I'll soon be on my 3rd cs144 alternator. done w the crap from the parts stores. anyone know of or have any experience with fully sealed alternators?

wondering what the cons are other than price.

What brands have you been getting from the parts store? That might be your issue.

Almost all brands from big box stores are bad. I learned this lesson along time ago. I try to stick with oem and oem mfg. I had way too many issues in the past. That's me however.

I am not sure if anyone makes a sealed alternator for deep water though. As they use air to cool down the internal components of the alts. This way they are so open to begin with. :)

I never liked the GM alts, get one from Quality Power. Its a direct bolt in, no spacers or adapters needed. I think I installed mine in 2015 or 16, its been under water and its still working fine.
