the good new is, since it wasn't a sealed beam, the bulb itself still works.

LOL! For trucks that see a lot of rocks/road debris or jut like to run into shit, polycarbonate (brand names Lexan, Tuffak, etc.) lenses are better. This is same shit (LOL!) that fighter jet cockpits are made of.

For trucks that do not see rough use, glass is better because it does not get blurry fro exposure to the elements.

I ended up trying some AutoPal Euro Code Crystal lens headlights with
H4 replaceable bulbs.

The ones I ordered came with 55w/65w's and I am
very pleased with their operation. The light they cast, both pattern, and
volume is much better(compared to 2 month old OEM sealed beams).

At the same time I purchased these off ebay, I ordered a IPF/ARB heavy duty headlight harness. I did this for a couple reasons. One, I had over 1 volt drop from the battery to the light sockets, and secondly, I had to replace the headlight switch last year and want to help extend it's life.

The vehicle in now a pleasure to drive at night on low, and impressive when high beams are on. For the cost, I will recommend the housings. Much more than that, and I'd consider the Cibies, or Hella both with the H4 housings.

Yeah, thats almost what I initially paid for mine when I bought it back.

The fact that they use about the same power as the tailights is pretty sweet. Not sure its, $1000 sweet though.

Good job! Fixes the voltage drop (hence, power lost on wires) issue, AND extends switch life.
