Search feature limited in usefullness

I was trying to do a search on gas mileage for both the V6 and V8.

When I put in "mpg", it tells me that it does not accept words under 4 letters.

I do a search for "milegae", but get way too many hits, most not specific to gas mileage.

Then I do a search for "gas mileage"....again it tell me my word is under 4 letters (evidentally it only too the word "gas")

If I post a specific question about it, I'm afraid people will jump all over me about to a search for it because it's already be discussed.

This is very important information I need to help make a decision on which engine to get, but this particular forum is not much help......

Have to be creative with it.

I.E., fuel/consumption/mileage and such.

I had the same problems at first, but was able to find what I needed after a few trys.

I beleive it is a limitation of the provider or software hosting the site. I've had to use wildcards (e.g., gas* mileage) to get past the limitation sometimes.

Same rules apply on the Yotatech forum, by the way.

4 letters is the default setting for vBulletin and they recommend against making it any smaller becaue it will increase the size of the database.
