hi everyone, first off i cant tell u guys how thankful i am for this site as it has helped me learn a lot about my ride...i own a black '05 v6 4x4 sport ed. I've used the search button but was unable to find the answer to my question regarding an aftermarket deck...has anyone installed one before into our runners with the upgraded 10 speaker JBL system? I went to futurestop today and those guys couldnt do it after an hour of trying to figure it out...I also had to buy a special custom harness from scosche that was supposedly meant for the JBL upgrade system but they said its still not doable...they said that i would lose the center channel and the rear stock sub...im very aggravated about this as ive tried 3 diff shops and none of them could do anything...help please? if worse comes to worse im just gonna sell the deck and return the harness and get te '06 tail lights

where do you live?? if your in so cal i can tell you a good shop to go to, i use to help out at the shop. pretty much if you want it done the owner will figure out a way to do it.

i live in van b.c...good ol rainy city...the dood told me that if i wanted to make the deck work properly and for it to be worthwhile (bang for my buck) i would need at least 4 new speakers...(two in the front seats, two in the back) and get a 5 channel amp to power all speakers (and an aftermarket sub if i chose to but i would still lose the center channel which is a speaker in the middle of the front dash) and the 5th channel would be used to power the sub..unless i were to get a 4 channel i would still need to get another amp to power the sub...man...

From what I know there is not much can do but to change the whole system if you want aftermarket equipment.You need the factory headunit to power the amp and you need the factory amp to power the speakers.

I've seen those stores in Ontario.... Hmmm... they're like electronic geniuses who also read palms.... they should've known ahead of time that they wouldn't be able to do the install...?! or at least could've told you that you were going to ask this question in this forum, no?!
