Searching For Tires.....

Well with 40K on the factory Bridgestones I decided to look for some new & different tires.
265/60-18's I looked at BFG's and others and settled on the NITTO Crosstek ,could not find any reviews on them but the factory and those carrying them talk 'em up good, so I'll try 'em out with a 60K warranty ,let's give'em a whirl.Just installed last night

That's not a bad looking street tire at all. It's like a 1/2 street, 1/2 AT tire!

Thanks, suppose to have excellent wet traction. deep treads & it does have a tad more roll resitance than the Bridgestone but it is a meatier tire so that comes along with the territory.

Is it like an aggressive highway tire?

Those are some deep water channels.

The sidewall looks really aggressive for the type of tire it is.

those look very nice, and the 60k warranty is excellent. I've just started searching & researching and those, seem to have a less aggressive pattern and 10k higher warranty than the silent armors I was shopping for. ANy reason in particular you chose those after the more common tires being put on 4r's also ball park on how much those were?

sorry general info I snagged off of the 'net...
no mine are factory size 265/60-18 and fit perfect ,weigh I am unsure I guess somewhere around 45-50 pounds ??? again just a guess

I searched BFG long trail 40-50K warranty but soft compound @$166 per tire, Yokohama geolanders 40-50K $186per tire ,Michelins LTX A/T2 $244 per tire 60K (outta my price range) Nitto's 60K $195per tire still $30 more than I wanted to spend but the tires compound,deep tread,60K semi aggressive tread pattern compare to the other tires NTB or Discount had all sucked

How is the road noise on the Nittos?

well today ,I have roughly 1500miles on the tires and barely knocked the rubber whiskers off of the tires....Show no wear other than the lil' rubber whiskers are about 90% gone . I am very impressed with them so far !

light off roading ,yes......
I went to Sam Houston National Forest this weekend and did some camping and the tires seem to work fine in that Black sand /Dirt of my location

Update on Tires

I have 58K on 4Runner today and the tires have been rotated every 5500 - 6K miles.

I have really liked the tires and would purchase again without hesitating !
fantastic grip on wet roads and light trail driving no issues.

my fuel economy since having the tire has not varied ,I get about 18city and 25hwy in the V6 ....

I can see the tires lasting 55-60K in Texas without a problem.
no real noise to speak of to me , they go down the road w/o a care in the world,

Very good to hear! I think I have made up my mind. These just look SO much better than the Michelin LTX M/S2...it is great to hear they actually perform as well. Any info on gas mileage with these?

My 4R gets 18city around 25hwy with 'em
while new there is a tad bit of roll resistance you'll feel but once broke in man do they go good with the 4Runner, I have not had 1 single issue with these Nitto's.... I am very impressed with 'em
