seat belt dinger

This is my first time submitting a post on this site. I picked up my new 08 "urban runner" today. Yeah, yeah, I know. Other than the name it is pretty cool except for the seat belt dinger.

How do you disable it?

Go to the stealership and buy a spare belt clip. Just the clip not the belt. Just put it in the selt belt latch and your problems will be solved

Or...just put your seat belt on.

If the 4Runner is like the second gen Tacoma, the buzzer is mounted on the PCB for the instrument cluster. Some have just smashed or yanked it out with pliers, others have taped over it, or desoldered it from the board for the Tacoma.

This is a brand new model, so no one's had a chance to mod the new features. I would not recommend you buy another insert, that could tell the airbags to deploy differently because the truck thinks you are restrained. The best bet is to locate the buzzer, and remove it. You may want to call the dealer and see if this is an option that can be turned off by the scan tool.
