Seat Cover Help

Got a set of Wet Okole's for the holidays. A present to myself. Right off the bat I have to say I'm not that impressed. One head rest came ripped. I really hope I grow to love them as they were not cheap. Anyhow as they are non returnable, I spent an hour or so trying to put them on.

I have a 2014 Trail with the driver's side power seat. I cannot seem to find an opening on the side with the power controls to thread the nylon strap/buckle through. Probably doesn't help that it is freezing out and the plastic bits are cutting up my hands.. Any advice here? I'm referring to the singular strap on the seat cushion portion that goes from door to door not the two that go front to back. Also on the seat belt side of the same driver's seat the car has a flap that I am guessing protects the seat rails but doesn't make for a clean install. The cover then just kind of dangles there... What have others done?

I did a search but didn't see anything specific but I just may suck at cars...

Have mine about six month. 14trail with Power driver seat. No issues installing, but did take about an hour for the 1st seat and 20 minutes on the other.

How did you thread the belt through where the controls are?

How did you thread the belt through where the controls are?

I used a plastic paint scraper. It was hot so the molded plastic was pliable vs. cold. Pulled it away enough using a small flashlight to see clear path and then pushed the belt down with the scraper.

I pulled the plastic side off. Just gently grab at the back and it will pop loose. When you are done, it snaps back on.

Oh thanks! I will have to do this one day to see where I have threaded it and if it is interfering with anything.

I ended up taking the buckle portion off and threading just the strap blindly through. It ended up going between the lumbar and the recline buttons. Took me a while of just pushing and attempting to pull from underneath... Then re-attaching everything.

Still have the passenger side to do though

I bought Wet Okole's for my Jeep a few years back... Pretty durable overall, but they fade BADLY!!!

I did learn that you can "paint" them with some rattle can fabric paint from O'Rielly's...

Did you leave it exposed to the elements?

Update : I finally got the pair installed properly. Power seat much more difficult than non power seat. They are growing on me. Hopefully they will last as this is a work truck and I will be in and out a lot... Also Wet Okole did (in theory) agree to send me replacement headrests after I submitted photos of the defective one.
